Metal Clay Classes & Workshops Metal Clay, PMC, Art Clay Silver Tuition is $95 plus materials During this one day metal clay workshop you will truly immerse yourself into working with Metal Clay. We will cover care and use of metal clay, forms of metal clay, tools and supplies, basic construction, rolling, texturing, cutting, coiling, layering and joining. We will also cover stone or glass setting, firing, brushing, polishing and patinas. During this fun and informative workshop, you will create several finished pieces you will proud to wear or give as gifts. We will cover use of traditional bezels in metal clay, prong settings in metal clay, and the use of stone setting burs for faceted gemstones. This is an advanced workshop and some metal clay experience is required. You may bring your own stones if you wish, and I will have a selection for you to choose from as well. Tuition is $60 Plus Materials Learn to create rings using metal clay by working directly on a mandrel. We will explore using a mandrel, sizing, allowing for shrinkage, setting stones and or glass, decorating with syringe, using coils, texturing and shaping rings. You can express your personal style in so many ways with this wonderul medium.

Certification
Classes Art Clay Silver Level One Certification In order to become a certified instructor, you must successfully complete the Level One Certification course. This course is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of Art Clay. The curriculum consists of seven different projects taught over 24 hours of instruction (typically three eight hour days), and covers a variety of techniques. Some of the techniques include use of organic forms, creating flat and round-shank rings, addition and firing of gemstones and glass, creating a mirror finish, and much more. This course provides general and technical information, as well as some helpful teaching guidelines. Upon successful completion of this course, you are entitled to:

Tuition is $30 plus materials This one night class will teach you how to layer colored, dichroic and clear glass in a variety of ways to create shimmering and beautiful jewelry sized cabochons. Tuition is $60 Plus Materials Spend a day working with powdered glass enamels over copper forms to create bowls, jewelry and more. We will cover preparing the copper, sifting, scrafitto, firing and finishing. You will be able to select from a variety of copper forms including bowls and shapes suitable for jewelry.

Tuition is $30 plus materials Learn the tools and techniques required to create your own soldered and hammered sterling silver link bracelet. We will cover the properties and types of wire, basic tools, work hardening, annealing, etc.. You will then form, join, soler, pickle, & polish your own stunning bracelet. This class will give you the skills and information to allow you to continue working with wire and soldering in your own studio or here at bench time. Offered on the following dates: February 16 - 6:30 p.m., March 22 - 6:30 p.m.. ___________________________________________________________________ Creating Wire & Bead Jewelry Tuition is $30 plus materials This one night class is designed to help you begin creating with wire and beads. We will cover types and properties of wire, basic tools, how to make clasps and links, how to wire wrap beads, and more. You will then use the skills you have acquired to create your own unique pieces combining your choice of beads with your own handmade and hammered pieces. Offered on the following dates: February 2 - 6:30 p.m., February 23 - 6:30 p.m., March 29 - 6:30 p.m. ____________________________________________________________________ Fiber Classes Microwave Dyed Silk Scarves Tuition is $30 Plus Materials In this class we will work with shimmering silk and silk dyes to create beautiful, vibrant one of a kind scarves. We will cover preparation of scarves for painting, steam setting in the microwave and a variety of application techniques. The soft fabric is a delight to work with. You will have the opportunity to create several scarves and experiment with a varied pallette in this fun class.

All of the classes and workshops taught here are available as private classes by appointment both for inidividuals and groups. We can also create parties and other events to your specifications. Bench time is also available for $5 per hour or $50 per month. Use the studio space, tools, etc.
